Stakeholders are basically any group or individual who has a ‘stake’ in a process because they have an interest in or are affected by an activity in some ways. Key categories of stakeholders include those who have an influence on the activity, those who have an impact on the resource, those who have a shared interest in the activity, and lastly the wider public.
